TULSA – The Edison Eagles secured a 50-38 victory over the Bishop Kelley Comets on Tuesday night, using a dominant third quarter to pull away in this Class 5A regional matchup.

Edison held a narrow 9-7 lead after the first quarter and extended their advantage to 26-20 at halftime. The Eagles then put together a strong third-quarter surge, outscoring Bishop Kelley 15-8 to take a 41-28 lead heading into the final period.

Maurice Jackson led the way for Edison with 17 points, while Nemo Liggins added 9 points. Donald Jackson, Quan Young, and Jett Crawford each chipped in 5 points, helping the Eagles maintain their lead down the stretch.

For Bishop Kelley, Will Essman paced the Comets with 11 points, while Beau Goodwin (10 points) and Jack Taylor (8 points) provided offensive support. However, the Comets struggled to keep pace with Edison’s balanced scoring attack and defensive pressure in the second half.

With the win, Edison advances to face crosstown rival Memorial in the area tournament Thursday evening at 6:00 PM at Jenks High School. Memorial earned their spot after defeating Shawnee 53-48 in the Class 5A, Region 3 Championship last Friday.

Edison will look to keep their postseason run alive in what promises to be an intense showdown against the Chargers.
