TULSA – Bishop Kelley High School has announced that former NFL player and veteran coach David Alexander will join the school as its new offensive line coach and math faculty member for the 2025-26 school year.

Alexander, a former Philadelphia Eagles lineman, played in the NFL from 1987 to 1994, starting 110 of 126 games. After retiring, he transitioned to coaching, with experience in high school football and the af2 arena league. He previously served as head coach at Broken Arrow High School, leading the team to a 6A-1 state championship in 2018, and as special teams coordinator at Jenks, helping the team win a state title in 2021.

“I am incredibly excited to join the Bishop Kelley community,” Alexander said. “My passion for coaching and teaching is driven by a desire to impact young people’s lives.”

Alexander has received numerous accolades, including induction into the Broken Arrow and Tulsa University Athletic Halls of Fame, as well as the Ed Block Courage Award. He has also served on the boards of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Jenks Foundation Auction.

“Coach Alexander is a fantastic addition to our math department,” said Bishop Kelley Principal Jim Franz. “We know he will have a lasting impact on both our students and student-athletes.”

Athletic Director Lance Parks echoed the sentiment. “His background as an NFL player and experienced coach is a tremendous asset. His passion for football and dedication to education make him a valuable addition to Bishop Kelley.”
