Red Raiders corral Cowboys in 93-55 decision

STILLWATER – JT Toppin delivered a standout performance with 32 points and 12 rebounds as No. 12 Texas Tech cruised to a 93-55 victory over Oklahoma State on Saturday. The Red Raiders took control early, building a 19-point halftime lead before outscoring the Cowboys 50-31 in the second half.
Christian Anderson added 16 points, while Oklahoma City native Kevin Overton scored 13 for Texas Tech (20-5, 11-3 Big 12). The Red Raiders shot 48% from the field and hit 16-of-37 three-pointers (43%), extending their winning streak over Oklahoma State to four games.
Oklahoma State (12-13, 4-10 Big 12) struggled offensively, shooting just 35% from the field. Marchelus Avery led the Cowboys with 13 points, while Abou Ousmane added eight. Oklahoma State, which typically relies heavily on free throws, struggled at the line, making just 11-of-21 for the game and only 6-of-14 in the first half.
Texas Tech dominated throughout, closing the first half on a 31-15 run to take a 43-24 halftime lead. The Red Raiders continued their offensive onslaught in the second half, opening with a 17-6 run to stretch the lead to 60-30 with nearly 15 minutes remaining.
Ball movement was a key factor in Texas Tech’s success, as the Red Raiders finished with 23 assists on 30 made shots, compared to just nine assists on 19 made shots for Oklahoma State.
With the win, Texas Tech strengthened its place among the Big 12’s top teams, leading the conference in field goal percentage (48.2%) and ranking second in three-point percentage (38.1%).
Oklahoma State, which has now lost six of its last eight games, will look to bounce back at home against UCF on Wednesday.
